Born in the UK, Michael caught the acting bug at primary school, appeared in many school plays, then went on to study Drama at University. An honours degree and several appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later he continued his studies at Mountview Theatre School, London, while doing the pubs and clubs with a comedy/mime double act, 'Dual Personalities.' After a few walk-on roles (including an appearance in an Only Fools and Horses Christmas special and a whole scene in a Jeffrey Archer mini-series - which ended up on the cutting-room floor) and some theatre, he trained as a high School teacher of English and Drama, then moved to New Zealand in 1995. After 12 years he quit teaching and returned to acting. Starting out with small theatre roles and acting in student films, he is very pleased to have progressed to playing leading theatrical roles and reached the point where he gets invited to audition for them. Being half French (as a child he was bi-lingual) he finds Shakespearean language comes quite naturally to him. He particularly loves the challenge of playing 'difficult-to-like' characters, like his recent role of King Lear, and previous roles as Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the title role in Jeffry Bernard is Unwell, Ray Say in Little Voice and Scrooge in A Christmas Carol - where he got his favourite piece of audience feedback. He has voiced and appeared in several NZ TV commercials and presented many commercial DVD projects - including NZ Census Collectors' Training Video. He has a regular spot voicing radio adverts, appeared in several short films and most recently played the role of Digger Joe in the NZ feature film, The Stolen. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Michael Adams
