Rodney has been a professional artist for over 25 years. Now based out of Denver, Colorado, Rodney and his husband, Chris Coleman, have two dogs, Logan and Trevor. As an actor I have had the wonderful opportunity to learn from and be a part of the Original Broadway casts of RENT at New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway, directed by Michael Greif and choreographed by Marlies Yearby, in the role of Paul and others. Later coming back as Benjamin Coffin III as part of the closing cast and can be seen on the RENT: Live on Broadway 2008 DVD. Peter in the 2000 Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar directed by Gayle Edwards and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. Clarence Norris in The Scottsboro Boys at The Vineyard Theatre Off-Broadway and on Broadway as well as portraying Haywood Patterson (Barrymore Award -Outstanding Leading Actor in a musical) in the post-Broadway regional premiere at The Philadelphia Theatre Company all directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. Bob in Come From Away directed by Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Kelly Devine; the 2014 lab/workshop in Seattle, La Jolla Playhouse, Seattle Repertory Theatre (Gypsy Lee Rose Award Nomination Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical), The Ford's Theatre (Helen Hayes Award Nomination Outstanding Supporting Actor in a musical, Helen Hayes Award Outstanding Ensemble), The Royal Alexandra Theatre (Toronto) and on Broadway. Writing has always been a big part of my life but I had chosen for many years to solely focus on performer life. As a Playwright I've written four plays, Just Press Save (2018 Eugene O'Neill semi-finalist, 2017 Relentless Award honorable mention), The Singer and Ms. Pearl, Flame Broiled. or the ugly play and One Big Happy (teleplay). I am currently in the beginning stages of re-conceiving my father's book of poetry into an eleven person musical called SOJOURN -An American experience told through poetry, song and dance.
