Nivi Canela (also credited as Sherill-Marie Henriquez) is a singer, actress, writer, and physical comedy performer from Union City, NJ. Born to parents from the Dominican Republic, she grew up speaking Spanglish and learned Italian in high school. She attended Columbia University and NYU as a Gates Millennium Scholar. In 2019, Canela wrote and performed the one-woman musical, "Daddy Issues: An Open Letter to Junot Diaz, My Father, and other Recovering Dominican Man-Whores." She has performed off-Broadway at the Provincetown Playhouse, the Jerry Orbach Theater, and HERE Arts Center, and is proud to be part of NYC's cabaret community. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Nivi Canela
