Born in Columbus, Indiana. Moved to Hollywood, California at the age of 2 years old. Started acting and dancing at the age of 5 with her brother Andy Martin (1961-1999). Monique was not successful as a child actor/dancer but her brother was. They were a dancing duo but she supported his dream to dance in such Variety shows as "Sonny and Cher", "Cher", "Mac Davis" and "Pete's Dragon". Her dreams were not fulfilled at that time as she was never the "right type". Tragedy struck and Monique went to live with foster parents at the age of 12. She found herself working and going to school took all her time. Then at 18, she met and fell in love with the man of her dreams Scott Robbins, who was and is a talented musician. At that time, she was working at Hollywood Title Services making titles for motion pictures and television. She found a new love in graphic arts and being behind the scenes. But as times changed, so did that industry. She moved to Connecticut where and Scott was from, married Scott, and they started a family deciding to leave showbiz completely behind. They had three children, Chris, Valorie and Sean. And as it turned out, her children all gravitated towards music, acting and modeling. They were left to make their decisions as they grew. But Monique wanted them to have a somewhat normal childhood. As their children all grew up and left the house, and started having children of their own, she thought she could keep acting suppressed by continuing to tap into the other creative sides, like graphic arts and photography. But the urge was too strong and when a great friend (Bridget McCray) came along and asked for head shots and encouraged Monique to get back in the game...that was the first nudge. The second was her husband telling her to stop moping and join an acting class and do something about it! So she did that day.
